Day Ninety Nine

Posted March 9, 2010 by dr_mcgoo

One day to go until the big party and we’re blowing up 99 red balloons, putting 99 bottles of beer backstage, dealing with 99 problems and putting 999 on our speed-dial just incase anything really major goes wrong. But don’t worry, it’ll be amazing!

Drentsoft provides our first image of the day, a loving portrait simply captioned as ‘Fat guy!’

99-1

Chrissy Williams gives us another most excellent word, if only it had come in time for our hat-wearing social on Day 79

Jen B is very disappointed in her supermarket sushi, derided as ‘Sushi for people who don’t know what sushi tastes like.’

99-2

We know what sushi tastes like, and we know how to throw a party like an S Club party. See you tomorrow!

Day Ninety Eight

Posted March 8, 2010 by dr_mcgoo

Apologies offered in advance for the excited tone of today’s message,

DAY NINETY EIGHT!! How the bleeding Nora did that happen? Just two days left of the challenge, and preparations for Wednesday’s party are going brilliantly, we’re really looking forward to meeting you all.

We can see that some of our regulars in the blog have had a busy weekend. Resident plagiarist Lizzie Poulton joined ambler and rambler Adrian Brown for a stroll around the posh half of the Monopoly board. Lizzie’s written up the experience on her blog, recommending a Sam Smith’s pub visited on their route that had previously been frequented by Samuel Johnson and Charles Dickens. A picture from their day together is below:

98-1

Adrian is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support which you can donate to by clicking here.

Great to hear that storyteller and Wikipedia searcher Ben Partridge has rejoined the club for the last few days. He’s posted a tale today of awards, nicely encapsulating the awkwardness, self-consciousness and bitterness they induce. Topical!

That’s all folks, you can start dipping for the finishing line now.

Day Ninety Seven

Posted March 7, 2010 by Tony Pelton

All is quiet on the blogging front. The requisite Sunday blogging day off is in full effect. However, that doesn’t mean all the news rags and journalists aren’t hard at work publishing away. The Independent on Sunday put the project on the front page of their magazine, and published a five-page article about The Hundred Days. The article even includes some Hundred Day-er responses and pledges. The Independent’s crack correspondent was in attendance on the ‘Day Seventy Nine’ get together.

In other news, One man and his cheese has been busily writing his profound thoughts, exclamations and posting funny dairy related videos. Michael Thompson has been keeping up with his commitment, and steadily blogging toward a brighter future.

Currently, Thompson is trying to fit cheese into his idea of the future. It’s very compelling stuff. The age old question of tradition versus the future. Who would have known it could be asked of cheese. There was also a really cool Tom Waits video from an earlier day, I believe day ninety five or so. Go read it!
